DIXIE'S HEALTH CLEARANCES

*UPDATE: Someone was really watching out for us from above because thankfully there was an amazing Orth Vet that agreed he would try to save the leg. He did warn us that it may never grow normally (meaning her leg might stay they same now and never grow). Despite the risk of her leg never being at normal length and the $$$$$ price tag we went ahead with the surgery. I couldn't just allow her to live a life without the use of her leg and/or possibly lose it all together when I have the possibility to save it.

*UPDATE: Its been awhile since our Dixie got injured and I am so so happy to report she has recovered marvelously and her PT is doing its job. She is not 100% and still going to therapy but she is doing amazingly and perfect in my eyes. Best part is her leg has grown and Im very very hopeful that her OFAs will be favorable but I am not to worried as we did do her Pennhip prior to the injury. She is still in good spirits even though she was crated for months during her most energetic stage in her life and had a traumatic injury at no fault of her own. She is back to her training and doing what she loves most.

While in TN,  Dixie got injured when she was on the field. Unfortunatley, this is what can happen when someone uses an untrained dog on a feild and becomes unruley. The other dog ran full force into her and broke her hind leg (Knee area), her trainner told us the dog was not paying attention and hit her like a Mac truck hitting a wall. Their Vet told us she will lose all mobility to the leg due to the extensive injury and we need to remove it. I refused to believe this was the only option so when I said no he did tell us we can opt to go see a specialist and hopefully they can help. Now we are waiting for her appointment
